We are long time fans of the Lowbrow lifestyle, however due to expenses incurred by the .com version, they have been having some difficulty in maintaining the site and have been conducting fundraisers to help pay the bills. In the true spirit of the lowbrow community (translation: we are a bunch of freeloaders!) we took it upon ourselves to create an experience similar to what we are used to, except that all of our costs are covered..
Dont get us wrong - donations are ALWAYS welcome, so if you feel the urge to contribute to the new lowbrow community, please feel free to contact the webmaster at this email Again, donations are not mandatory, but greatly appreciated.
Now I know what you're thinking - that Im just ripping off that "other site" in a pathetic attempt to draw visitors to MY site...well, you're wrong. This site is just offered as an alternative for those who are addicted to 'browing. Since our costs are built in every month, we do not anticipate the need to do fundraising. This is not to say that lowbrow.com is wrong for fundraising, we all have bills, but so does the community - as much as we would like to, we can't always contribute in a monetary fashion.
We at lowbrow.org did offer to assist Tjay with hosting, but due to the complex nature of his setup, it just was not feasible. It also doesn't help when you send nasty emails to him that were written using an Irish temper instead of logic and reasoning...my apologies go out to Tjay for what was said in the past.
With that said, we welcome you to lowbrow.org - all are welcome here, but please keep in mind that we are not trying REPLACE lowbrow.com - that's impossible. Rather, we are merely providing an OPTION for those of us that are unable to contribute. The only word of caution is that we own the site, and as said owners we reserve the right to remove anything we find in there. For those of you that insist on slamming our efforts with multiple posts, dont think that its any problem for us to remove them. It's actually quite simple, and actually takes less time to remove than it does for you to copy and paste the same moment, so its just your time that is being wasted, not ours. While we admire the loyalty of the fans to the .com, as we have already said, we are not trying to replace it - merely supplement it.
As to the people who claim that we are posers and ripping off the .com version, well that's where you're wrong. Originally we were upset with .com for going offline, but since then we have emailed back and forth with Tjay and I get the feeling that we are at least hospitable towards each other now. We have removed our anti-Tjay content, as well as the anti lowbrow.com content. We hold no hostility towards Tjay or lowbrow.com and wish him continued success. Dont believe us? Head over to lowbrow.com and send him an email. He may answer, he may not. Thats up to him.
Nuff said - enjoy the site. This one is for all you 'browers out there.
